DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering) ITSM System Implementation

DSME ITSM was first established during the process of building a new next-generation ERP system in 2004. At that time, the need arose to create a framework that could:

- Respond quickly to unexpected incidents occurring anytime and anywhere.

- Accommodate diverse customer requirements with limited operational personnel.

- Effectively manage rapidly increasing IT resources.

To address these needs and handle the diverse IT requirements of approximately 20,000 employees, including client companies and on-site partner firms, DSME became the first in the shipbuilding industry to establish ITSM processes.

Subsequently:

- In 2005, DSME implemented an ITSM system focused on Service Support for infrastructure operations, based on CA Service Desk.

- In 2006, DSME developed an in-house SR management system and deployment (application) management system for application operations.

- In 2007, DSME obtained ISO 20000 certification and CMMI Level 3 certification, and has operated the ITSM system for over 10 years to date.

Through this journey, DSME has now embarked on building a new ITSM system aimed at improving aging systems and integrating distributed systems.
