Implementation Case: E-GENE Solution with Integrated Mobile Platform
The ongoing wave of industrial revolution is not limited to specific sectors—it applies to all industries and is advancing faster than expected. In response to this rapid change, STEG has strengthened user-friendly system features and implemented mobile platform integration to provide an environment that is easy to use, fast, and free from time and space constraints.
Fusion of E-GENE Solution and Mobile Platform
With the growing diversity of devices such as smartphones and tablets, STEG applied a mobile platform to the E-GENE solution to connect users and services in a mobile environment, enabling the realization of Digital Work Place (DWP) mobility.
The implemented case is a mobile freight call app developed on the E-GENE platform using a hybrid app development approach.
A hybrid app combines the strengths of native and web apps:
- Core functions are built with HTML and Java,
- Integrated with Android OS,
- Downloadable from app stores like native apps,
- Access to hardware features such as speakers, gallery, camera, and notifications.
Because it uses fundamental web technologies, the app is fast and easy to maintain. Additionally, STEG leveraged the Workflow Platform embedded in E-GENE to allow administrators to easily add or modify features, making mobile platform integration seamless. This expansion from web to mobile enables the solution to support both environments effectively.
By eliminating the need to redevelop existing IT environments for mobile, users can quickly adopt mobile platforms with simple settings. This marks the beginning of service development projects using a low-code platform.

Future Plans
Currently, Android dominates global market share (70%), followed by iOS (15%). The app has been implemented for Android, with iOS development planned. Future updates will include site management and authentication features, packaged for broader deployment.
Once completed, STEG solutions will become widely accessible across web and mobile, expanding the user base and delivering diverse services. This will enable DWP mobility, providing convenience to customers and driving digital transformation in enterprise environments.
