Incheon Port Logistics I-PLUS Phase 3 Project – ITSM Implementation Project

Incheon Port Authority Holds Kick-Off Meeting for Phase 3 of U-Logistics System Project

The “Incheon Port U-Logistics System Phase 3 Construction” (Incheon-Port Logistics & Ubiquitous System, hereinafter I-PLUS) project, which applies IT technology to modernize logistics processing at Incheon Port, has officially begun.

On the afternoon of the 6th, Incheon Port Authority held a kick-off meeting for this project at its main conference room.

The I-PLUS project has been underway since 2009 to strengthen Incheon Port’s logistics competitiveness, and Phase 3 commenced on June 20.

The core of Phase 3 is linking the existing integrated Incheon Port portal (www.ipus.co.kr) with various import/export logistics systems of the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs and the five container terminal operating systems at Incheon Port.

As a result, the Incheon Port portal will be reorganized into a value-added service platform that provides diverse port logistics information to customers such as shippers, shipping companies, and carriers.

Additionally, the previously limited Smart IPA service will be expanded and upgraded to a hybrid app format, enabling full Incheon Port portal content to be accessed via smartphones.

To ensure stable service operations, Incheon Port Authority will introduce a standardized IT Service Management (ITSM) system for the first time among port public enterprises, promoting service level management for customer IT services.

Kim Soon-cheol, Head of the IT Innovation Team at Incheon Port Authority, stated:

“To ensure smooth progress of this project, we will simultaneously collect feedback on service improvement requirements from Incheon Port users, including container terminal operators, port logistics associations, pilot associations, inspection and measurement agencies, ship enthusiast groups, and shipowners’ associations.”
