In 2013, the Public Procurement Service and the Korea Health and Welfare Information Development Institute were selected as organizations with a high level of IT Service Management (ITSM) performance. At the “2013 itSMF Korea Conference” held on the 30th by itSMF Korea, these two organizations received the itSMF Award for Best Public Sector Service.

Since 2009, itSMF has established the itSMF Award to emphasize the importance of ITSM and spread awareness, selecting and awarding outstanding organizations and companies every year. The itSMF Award Evaluation Committee, composed of experts, assessed candidates based on criteria such as:

△ IT-SMS advancement (future orientation)

△ Appropriateness of submitted materials

△ Scope of application within the organization

△ IT-SMS professionalism (operational level)

The Public Procurement Service was the first in the public sector to obtain ISO20000 certification and has adopted and utilized ITSM since its early stages. Recently, it has promoted ITSM system advancement based on accumulated operational results, establishing a framework that contributes not only to IT management but also to organizational performance.

The Korea Health and Welfare Information Development Institute integrated systems previously operated separately by seven health and welfare-related institutions, creating a company-wide operational foundation. During this process, with active support from management, regulations and systems were improved, enabling rapid ITSM adoption.

Hwang Kyung-tae, Chairman of itSMF Korea, stated:

“We hope the itSMF Award will help spread knowledge of IT service management and related fields by showcasing exemplary organizations and companies. We expect the itSMF Conference to serve as a stepping stone for maximizing IT business value for enterprises and organizations.”
