Today, digital transformation refers to the process of improving or creating new business processes, culture, and customer experiences through digital technologies to meet changing business environments and market demands. So, what are the objectives that many organizations aim to achieve through digital transformation?

First, it is to increase efficiency through the application of digital technologies. In other words, by integrating time-consuming manual data entry and processes, organizations seek to eliminate human inefficiencies and reduce overhead costs. Second, it lies in innovating existing processes and business models. By transforming strong data collection, centralized data storage, and analysis into actionable, revenue-generating insights, companies aim to accelerate decision-making. Third, it is to create new value by delivering customized services that meet individual customer needs.

The most critical issue in executing digital transformation is the difficulty of quickly reflecting business requirements in organizational processes and business models. Rapid testing cycles to create business and customer value, continuous improvement through measurement and evaluation are essential, and this changing environment has triggered the need for no-code and low-code technologies.

No-code and low-code technologies have become essential elements of digital transformation to improve productivity and reduce costs. This is due to the growing demand for building business systems and automating tasks, the acceleration of IT service changes driven by cloud adoption, and the limitations of traditional software development in responding to market needs. These technologies enable organizations to validate requirements through iterative prototypes with minimal coding, solve problems, automate business processes, accelerate application development, and implement flexible and efficient changes.

In other words, no-code and low-code technologies provide diverse capabilities and flexibility to address modern business challenges and continuously support digital innovation. They streamline digital transformation initiatives through visual modeling.

Within organizations, these technologies are most commonly used for templates or data collection, implementing business processes and workflows within applications, replacing paper, email, or spreadsheets, and supplementing existing applications.

As mentioned earlier, successful digital transformation requires innovation in processes and business models. To achieve this, business models and workflows must be implemented quickly within applications and be easily adaptable. The most efficient approach is through ITSM solutions, which aim to manage services and processes by defining, controlling, measuring, evaluating, and improving operations.

Today, ITSM effectively supports IT Governance (ITG) through service lifecycle management and is expanding beyond IT domains into Enterprise Service Management (ESM) to support processes across entire industries. STEG’s E-GENE ITSM solution is a specialized ITSM solution based on a no-code platform with an embedded workflow engine. By leveraging no-code platform technology, users can easily transform complex processes and support expansion into ESM.

STEG: Driving Digital Innovation with No-Code

Recently, STEG participated in two consecutive events: the Digital Manufacturing Innovation Conference 2023 hosted by ET News on May 23, and the No-Code·Low-Code Automation Impact 2023 organized by ET News Internet on June 21.

At the Digital Manufacturing Innovation Conference 2023, STEG’s Team Leader Jeong-Je Lee explained global market trends and cases, discussing how low-code and no-code technologies—one of the world’s leading technology trends—impact manufacturing innovation and operational efficiency. He also presented domestic cases and application strategies using STEG’s low-code/no-code platform, E-GENE, which can be immediately applied.

STEG emphasized that the E-GENE platform is not limited to specific industries but supports innovation and efficiency across various sectors, including manufacturing. As a workflow-based LCNC platform, it allows users to easily create applications through drag-and-drop functionality, driving business innovation. The presentation highlighted E-GENE’s core features and real-world applications.

Through the E-GENE platform, organizations can not only automate IT services for enterprise digital work but also create applications for industrial safety, manufacturing, procurement/management, compliance, and IT internal control in response to external audit law amendments. The platform is also suitable for building popular O2O service platforms easily and conveniently. The presentation concluded by emphasizing that STEG’s low-code platform plays a critical role in corporate innovation and digital transformation.

At the No-Code·Low-Code Automation Impact 2023, STEG’s Executive Director of Services, Min Chang-Seon, delivered a presentation titled “Digital Work Powered by No-Code.” Min explained:

“ITSM based on a no-code platform, which is not limited to specific industries, enables business process integration, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement. It provides optimized functionality to meet the requirements of processes that perform changes to achieve specific goals, deliver measurable value based on results, and enable self-correction through feedback.”

He added:

“By leveraging packaging technology, the platform provides an environment for deploying and installing applications, maximizing application reuse. This evolution continues toward ESM (Enterprise Service Management) and DW (Digital Work) to support digital transformation and build new ecosystem environments.”

Min also introduced implementation strategies for business and workflow using no-code platforms and shared digital transformation cases based on no-code technology.

Who is STEG?

Under the motto “Service Technology Evolution Gene,” STEG is the first domestic company to provide a self-developed no-code-based ITSM solution. Founded in 2008, STEG has evolved into a company that offers an environment for easily building workflows not only for IT but also for HR, Sales, and SCM processes using its no-code platform.
