STEG Inc., an ITSM specialized company, announced that its cloud ITSM solution 'E-GENE' has became the first certificate of the Korea Internet & Security Agency's (KISA) Colud Service Assurance Program Certification (hereinafter 'CSAP Certification') SaaS Simple Grade this year in 2024.

'CSAP Certification' is a certification system designed to provide private cloud services with proven stability and reliability to public institutions. In line with the Digital Platform Government Realization Plan and the Third Basic Plan for Cloud Computing, demand for private cloud services from public institutions is increasing. CASP certification is a prerequisite for providing cloud services to public institutions.

'E-GENE ITSM' is a workflow-based service that allows IT departments to easily manage all IT service requests and the entire ITIL-based service lifecycle via PC or smartphone. The service's facilitation of IT governance caused high demand from public institutions. Furthermore, the service can be customized to meet demands of specific laws and regulations required to public institutions, such as SLM. Thus, the serive has high adaptability and is optimized to ensurance of IT operational ROI.

Administrative network failures are occuring frequently, as we could see in 2023 when the Korean National Administrative Network System was paralyzed. One of the major causes of such failures can be said to be the inadequate IT service management system.

In particular, most of public institution's IT is managed and operated through IT outsourcing, which is entrusted to external companies. Also, most of public integrated maintenance projects are based on bidding every two years. Thus, without proper management system and structure, there is a very high possibility that problems will arise over time.

Despite the necessity of ITSM system, the Korean public institutions had to build ITSM systems on-premise. The high initial construction cost caused the difficulty in securing budget, and the institutions had to operate the system in-house. Such situation made the ITSM adoption rate in public institutions stay low.

Lim Hyun-gil, CEO of STEG Inc., said, "STEG is the leading company in Korean ITSM market and it has become the first CSAP certified company in ITSM field. Therefore, I strongly expect that STEG's launching of full-scale cloud services will relieve the thirst that public institutions have on ITSM."
