STEG (CEO Lim Hyun-gil), an IT Service Management (ITSM) specialized company, announced on the 6th that it has completed the construction of a next-generation ITSM for the management of SK Telecom's (CEO Jung Jae-heon) GPU cluster.
SKT configured more than 1,000 units of NVIDIA's high-performance B200 semiconductors into a single GPU cluster at the Gasan AI Data Center and, based on this, is operating a subscription-type AI cloud service (GPUaaS).
This project focused on achieving resource utilization and service quality improvement in a high-density GPU environment by advancing the infrastructure management system of the GPU cluster.
STEG implemented a control system specialized for high-performance infrastructure by applying the ITSM solution 'E-GENE™ ITSM'. Based on the data center floor plan, the physical location of servers can be intuitively identified, and detailed specifications of each device, network port connection status, and software installation status can be integrated, checked, and analyzed. In the event of a failure, it supports the efficient operation of large-scale GPU resources by quickly identifying problem points and shortening response times.
Also, by datafying major IT processes, all histories such as change history and approval processes are tracked and stored without omission. Through this, the burden of IT General Controls (ITGC) and IT service management tasks was reduced, and traceability and transparency required for audit response were also secured.
SK Telecom improved the operation of the high-density GPU environment through this next-generation ITSM construction, while also preemptively strengthening the audit and compliance response system. Especially, by establishing a stable operation system for large-scale AI infrastructure, it is expected to enhance the competitiveness of GPUaaS services and accelerate the leap toward becoming a global AI company..
Lim Hyun-gil, CEO of STEG, stated, "It is even more meaningful to contribute to SK Telecom's core infrastructure, which is directly linked to our country's AI competitiveness," and added, "We will provide the highest level of ITSM by exerting our proven capabilities in the public, financial, and enterprise markets even in ultra-large AI environments."
Meanwhile, STEG has self-developed various B2B IT services such as Asset Management (ITAM) and Enterprise Service Management (ESM) in addition to ITSM, based on the no-code platform 'E-GENE™'. In the case of ITSM, it is available on-premise as well as in the cloud (SaaS), and has obtained Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification to meet the security requirements of the public and financial markets.
